Lolita style dresses are so cute.  Typically they are done in pastel shades - but I thought I would take it in a different direction with these coordinating red and white fabrics.  The skirt and bodice are made from a white cotton with a small flower print all over.  The skirt has a red ruffled organza trim at the hem.  A red lace has been hand-pleated where the two skirt sections meet.  The same red lace trails down the front of the dress into the skirt on either side of red handmade bows and white beads in the center.  The hem of the skirt also has been stitched as intervals and decorated with red bows. There are two white rosettes as well where the lace ends at the hem of the skirt. 
 
Layered over the dress is a contrasting red and white cotton wrap with a white ruffled trim.  The wrap closes at the front with a small silver butterfly clasp. The back of the dress also has a red and white ribbon bow with tails hanging past the edge of the skirt.  Layered under the dress is a white tulle petticoat. 
 
This dress has been made to fit the standard Rainbow and Shadow High dolls.  It has a snap closure at the back. The wrap has a clasp. The tulle petticoat has an elastic waist and easily slides onto the doll.
